As Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace resilience, tolerance, compassion, and dedication to national progress. In his message to the Muslim faithful, he emphasized that the festival serves as a reminder to show gratitude to God for His abundant mercies.
President Tinubu highlighted Eid-el-Kabir as the peak of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah—a period rich with opportunities for worship and good deeds. He encouraged citizens to reflect on the festival’s deeper meaning, emphasizing sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness. He called on Nigerians to embody these values, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to these virtues and expressed appreciation for the perseverance and faith of Nigerians during the ongoing reforms. Despite doubts and challenges, Tinubu noted that the resilience of public and private sector leaders, supported by the patience of citizens, has started to produce positive results.
“I assure you that our most difficult days are behind us,” he said, expressing confidence that the nation is entering a new era of hope and prosperity promised two years ago. He acknowledged that Nigeria has not yet achieved its goals but urged citizens to remain hopeful. According to him, key economic indicators are improving, and reforms are beginning to take effect.
President Tinubu stressed that the reforms aim to change lives and secure long-term development, not just improve statistics. He promised that his administration would continue prioritizing the country’s best interests to ensure the people benefit from economic growth.
He reiterated his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to deliver prosperity to all Nigerians. He also called on citizens to embrace Eid-el-Kabir’s message of love, compassion, and generosity, regardless of faith or background.
Reflecting on the recent flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which claimed lives and caused widespread destruction, the President urged citizens to pray for the victims and support government efforts to bring relief to the affected communities.
President Tinubu encouraged continued prayers for the country, its leaders, and frontline security personnel. He urged Nigerians to use the Eid celebration as an opportunity to seek divine guidance and blessings for the nation, urging asking those who are more fortunate to support those in need and to uphold the values of perseverance, sacrifice, loyalty, faith, and shared humanity.
